Zainul Nasi Kandar, Petaling Jaya

admin Avatar
This is our favourite nasi kandar place in Klang Valley.
I was introduced to this place by BF, and he by his friends.
The crowd here is crazy, so long queue is a normal sight.
Btw, sorry for the photo quality  🙁
and for putting 3 photos only.
We just couldn’t wait to attack the food….lol.
Service is fast here, so don’t worry about the queue….which sometimes could go on until outside of the food court.
When it’s your turn, just tell the makcik the lauk that you want.
You will find the usual nasi kandar dishes here.
As for vegetables, you can choose either bean sprouts or cabbage.

The most famous dish would be the fried chicken.
The makcik will usually ask if you would prefer quarter chicken or half of that.
After you have gotten all the dishes, just choose a table.
Someone will take your drinks order and you pay him/ her for your food + drink.
You can get your papadom from the counter or just ask any of the staff to get it for you.

This was my plate of nasi kandar.
I took curry chicken (huge piece of whole leg), fried taukwa, stir fried cabbage and a piece of daging masak kicap.
Plus kuah banjir and mint sauce.
The taste….it’s simply out of this world.
The curry was pekat and the level of spiciness was just right.

We also took a piece of sotong kari.
It was cooked perfectly, the sotong was not liat.
The gravy was amazing.
(I’m salivating as I’m typing this….lol.)

* UPDATED *
New photos from our second visit.
Some of the available lauk for you to choose.
As usual, please ignore the large pool of oil there 😛
HUGE fish heads.
If you wish to have Fish Head Curry, just tell the makcik which fish head do you want.
She will prepare and send it to your table.
Our Kari Kepala Ikan.
We are happy to report that the fish was fresh and delicious.
My usual lauk and rice to put me into food coma….lol.

Verdict: 100% recommended. This place will satisfy your craving for nasi kandar if you are in Klang Valley. My rule of thumb on good food….if you see our Chinese friends queuing up for non Chinese food sold by non Chinese, then the food there should be really good. So here in Zainul Nasi Kandar, there’re many Chinese people enjoying the nasi kandar. I saw some of them eating with their hand. To those who have never does that, let me tell you, eating nasi kandar with your hand makes the nasi even more tasty and enjoyable  🙂

Oh yes…while you are there, don’t forget to take a peek at their huge kawah filled with delicious curries. An amazing sight.
