About two weeks ago, I was in Bangkok for a meeting.
It was my first trip to Thailand.
After 2 hours of flight from KLIA, I touched down at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
(I’ve always like the word “suvarnabhumi” because it sounds so grand. I first learned it when I was in Form 1 history class. If I could remember correctly, it means land of gold.)
I stayed at the Amari Watergate Bangkok Hotel.
It’s about 45 minutes from the airport.
It was Sunday, so the traffic was smooth.
Amari Watergate is located opposite of Platinum Mall. Just walk across the road using the overhead bridge.
Meanwhile Pratunam Market is right next to it.
This hotel is definitely recommended for those who love shopping.
The lobby is huge…maybe one of the biggest I have ever seen.
The room rates.
I stayed four nights here in the deluxe room.
I really liked the room.
It’s spacious and brightly lit.
It was a non smoking room with twin beds.
I’ve just realised that I only have one pic of the beds
But it’s a bit messy, so I won’t put it here….lol.
It’s not a pretty sight 😛
Welcome fruits.
There were mangosteen, rambutan and an apple.
40″ LCD TV.
Lots of channels to choose from.
I watched AFC shows and Top Chef most of the time.
Late at night, it would be Carrie Bradshaw and her gang.
Hmmm….M&Ms….
There’s a DVD player in the room.
I would have brought my Big Bang Theory DVDs if I knew they provide it.
Each day, four bottles of drinking water are provided.
(I took one bottle home…hehe)
The shower cubicle and toilet are separated.
My only complaint about the room is that the plumbing system is loud.
Verdict: Bright room, friendly staff, clean and spacious room, soft and fluffy pillows, strategic location, 40″ TV plus a DVD player….what’s not to like about Amari Watergate?
An enjoyable stay for me 🙂
